Our Story

It all started with a dream in 2016 to open a restaurant hence the name Chicken & Sweets Southern Yard Bird. We didn’t want to get a loan to start our business so we started selling jams & baked goods at farmers markets and local events to save money. As we became more popular we made a decision to keep the name and continue the path we were on with the jams & baked goods.

The first jams we started selling was our Triple Peppa Jelly & Blueberry Balsamic Preserves, these two flavors remain our top sellers. As time went on we added more flavors. All of our jams seasonally made in small batches using as much local products as possible, and proudly made in Prattville, Alabama.
